Original woodblock prints grace the cabin walls, handmade quilts cover the beds, and a few locally-made antique furnishings are found throughout the cabin. Woodchuck's rustic, clutter-free rooms speak of New England character and aesthetics. Visitors are welcome to explore a selection of books about the region's nature, local history, and even some books by Robert Frost and Henry David Thoreau.
Perched on a hillside, Woodchuck Cabin is located just steps away from wooden stairs that will lead you down to the river and swimming hole. Or you can stroll in the other direction for a few games of tennis on the well-maintained court, or try your hand at ping pong.
We've heard visitors say Woodchuck has everything you need, and nothing you don't. While the cabin's overall feeling is of a peaceful "away from it all" retreat, you'll also find Woodchuck has great Wi-Fi, power outlets with charging ports, a flat-screen smart TV in the master bedroom, and a small TV with kids' videos in the loft bedroom, along with a handful of board games.
On the first floor, the kitchen has newly updated stainless appliances: a glass-top range, refrigerator, quiet dishwasher, and large microwave. The dining table expands to seat six. A queen sized master bedroom has an en-suite full bathroom. Leather recliners and a spacious couch surround the stone fireplace in the living room, with skylight and ceiling fan high above in the vaulted ceiling.
Upstairs features a half bath, two twin beds in a spacious sleeping loft with a play area for games, plus two more twin beds in a private bedroom. Three additional upstairs skylights welcome the morning sun each day, and enchant stargazers at night.

About the Owner
Woodchuck is owned by a writer and an artist who have loved Roaring Branch since discovering it 35 years ago. The art on the walls was created by our friends. We care deeply about nature, and love the frogs, the birds, the wildflowers, the mushrooms, and the simple beauty of this spot. Our children grew up loving summers here, singing and playing guitar by the fire, beating us at ping pong, splashing in the swimming hole, catching and releasing frogs, making leaf prints, eating watermelon on the deck, and heading out on road trips throughout this beautiful state. Now, as adults, they still return year-after year, bringing friends, taking early morning walks on the trails, and grilling fresh local foods on the Weber grill, and using the location as a base for antiquing, hiking, and seeing artist's studios.

Eighty-five percent (85.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 5 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 5 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
